SUSTAINABILITY

Made from 100% recycled materials

XWASTED global recycled stndard

Every item of XWASTED clothing is made from 100% recycled materials that would have otherwise become landfill or ocean waste. 60% of the total material comes from recycled pre-consumer cotton, with the remaining 40% from recycled post-consumer plastic bottles.

To achieve this, our manufacturer Salvage Fashion takes the off-cuts from organic cotton production, shreds them and turns them back into soft cotton fibres. They then add fibres made from the recycled plastic bottles and spin them into a fine yarn to obtain the perfect cotton and polyester blend. Learn more about this unique and innovative process here.

All of our clothing is certified under the Global Recycle Standard and the Organic Content Standard by the Control Union, licence number CU828402. This is your guarantee that the claims about the recycled and organic status of the raw materials used are true.

Our XWASTED facemasks are manufactured by Tonlé, who share our philosophy of zero waste fashion. Based in Cambodia, the Tonlé team scour the remnant markets of Phnom Penh to collect pre-consumer textile waste from large garment factories, which is thoroughly sterilised then sewn by hand to make our masks. Learn more about Tonlé’s production methods and commitment to zero waste fashion here

Built to last

XWASTED t-shirts

We support the #30WEARS movement – if you don’t think you’ll wear an item at least 30 times, or if you’re unsure it will last that long without falling apart, then you probably shouldn’t buy it. This philosophy of mindful consumption is the antithesis of ‘fast fashion’, where cheap clothing is produced to be worn only a few times before it falls apart or is discarded in favour of the next seasonal trend.

Our garments are made from high-quality fabrics and built to last with superior stitching and finishing. We back this up with a 30-wear guarantee – if your XWASTED piece doesn’t last at least 30 wears, we’ll refund your full purchase price and recycle the garment for you.

Our garment packaging is 100% plastic-free, consisting only of post-consumer recycled paper.
